The Reproductive Health Training Center has created and released a series of videos that

presents the stories of five women with disabilities, five protagonists who speak openly about the right to sexual and reproductive health of people with special needs.

These videos are an accessible and truthful source of information for people with disabilities, at the same time, they will certainly motivate other women and girls to confidently exercise their rights.

The heroines, by their own example, promote the message that people with disabilities have the right to qualitative medical care services in sexual and reproductive health, have the right to create a family and to become parents.

Certainly, the stories of our heroines are motivational, they spoke openly about the themes:

The video spots were launched to provide continuity to the training of trainers process in SRHR trainings, these trainings were carried out by RHTC for girls and women with disabilities.

Elena Cernei, Mariana Rotari, Adela Postolachi are three of the heroines who shared their touching stories. After participating in the training courses, organized by RHTC, they obtained the role of trainers, so they will be able to pass on the knowledge they have gained to other people with disabilities in different regions of the country.

Ludmila Iachim and Olga Afanas also manage to motivate and inspire.

Their role as trainers in the courses initiated by RHTC allows them to communicate on key topics with a larger number of women and girls with disabilities and to provide them with accessible, accurate and useful informational support.

By releasing these videos we aimed to raise society’s awareness and to emphasize the message that women and girls with disabilities have the same rights and must be provided with free access to qualitative medical services in sexual and reproductive health.

We firmly believe that people with special needs must decide individually how to build their own sexual and reproductive life.

The films can be viewed in Romanian, with translation in sign language and subtitles in Romanian and Russian. They were created within the project “Inclusive and accessible for all: A multi-componentapproach to promoting sexual and reproductive health and respecting the rights of women and girls with disabilities”, with the support of the Embassy of Finland in Bucharest, within the Fund for Local Cooperation.
