Supporting Youth-Friendly Education and Awareness Raising on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender Based Violence Prevention

PROJECT PURPOSE: To promote comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education for young people and prevention of gender-based violence.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  • Revise and adapt a complex program based on research and other national data to educate and inform teens and key people who interact with teens and youth leaders on Reproductive Health, Gender Equality and Physical and Psychological Self Defence.
  • Develop informational educational materials, revise and widely disseminate them. Use materials on social networks and in paper form (60 Amaze video animations translated into Romanian for teens and 3 new videos (SRH, Gender equality and Self-Defence ).
  • Work in the neighbouring area of Chisinau with an expansion to all of the Republic of Moldova through Neovita’s 41 Youth Friendly clinics. Collaborate with local NGOs to ensure access to youth- friendly SRH services, confidential counselling and training in basic self defence 40 youth leaders trained.
  • Reaching 1600 teenagers (including girls, youth with disabilities, youth from vulnerable families, ethnic minorities, refugees) by participating at Neovita’s summer camp.
  • Capacitate trainers/leaders in gender based violence and basic self defence techniques (both Physical and Psychological)
PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
  • Develop age-appropriate and culturally sensitive SRH education program and materials (SRH workshops, Self Defence Workshops Psychological self defence guide).
  • Organize PR activities and campaigns to reach adolescents using attractive channels (social media, Websites, press, video platforms).
  • Train peer counsellors and youth leaders from youth groups to conduct workshops and provide information on sexual and reproductive health, by using referral channels to Neovita Youth Clinics, regional health clinics and specialists.
  • Reaching 1,600 youth from all Moldova’s regions by capacitating 200 of Neovita’s Youth leaders at their annual summer camp. This event is meant to train Neovita’s 41 clinics staff, volunteers and coordinators.
  • Capacitate 25 trainers/leaders from Neovita’s Youth clinics and other NGO’s working with teens in physical and psychological self defence and gender based violence.
