PROJECT GOAL: Coordinate Regional Training Center on Development and Implementation of Clinical Guidelines and Protocols on Reproductive Health and organize Regional Training Course on Clinical Guidelines in Sexual and Reproductive Health in Russian language to support stakeholders in countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia to establish a systematic approach to clinical guideline development/adaptation/implementation within a national program on quality improvement.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
- Establish a Board for the Moldova Regional Training Center and sign the Cooperation Agreement;
- Conduct Board annual meeting;
- Review and update the principles, criteria, questionnaire and methodology for the selection of participants in the Regional Course;
- Review and update the course materials in Russian;
- Develop pre-course orientation material;
- Organize Regional Course in Russian in Chisinau on 7 – 11 September 2015;
- Organize Regional Course in Russian in Chisinau on 13 – 16 September 2016;
- Monitor and report to EECA RO on the participants’ trained in the Moldova Russian language Regional Course in 2014, 2015, and 2016 involvement in the guidelines development and implementation process in their countries after the training;
- Develop a sustainability plan for the Moldova Regional Training Center.
IMPACT of the PROJECT:
- The Regional Training Center on Development and Implementation of Clinical Guidelines and Protocols on Reproductive Health was established headquartered in Moldova, successfully coordinated by the Reproductive Health Training Center (RHTC), represented by Director – Rodica Comendant. The Regional Center is organizing trainings in Russian for the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
- Course trainers, Moldovan professionals trained by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Great Britain, have reviewed and updated curriculum course in Russian so it can better respond to regional needs and be centered on participant.
- Were successfully organized two more regional courses in Russian in Chisinau: 7 to 11 September 2015 and 13 to 16 September 2016. Totally to date three Russian courses (the first one took place in February 2014) hosted 59 representatives of ministries of health, mother and child institutes, medicine universities etc. from 11 countries of the region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan).
- Due to the knowledge gained, participants have developed national plans on development, implementation and/or adaptation of guidelines and clinical protocols in sexual and reproductive health, which provides continuity of the training efforts and will enable implementation of developed standards simultaneously in many countries of the region.

Regional Training Course on Development and Implementation of Clinical Guidelines in Sexual and Reproductive Health, 13-16 September 2016
The third Regional Training Course (in Russian) on Development and Implementation of Clinical Guidelines in Sexual and Reproductive Health was organized during 13 and 11 September 2015, at Leogrand Hotel and Convention Center in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova (see details in the Agenda).
The course was organized by the Reproductive Health Training Centre (RHTC) with the support of the UNFPA Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, in the framework of UNFPA Regional Initiative for Reproductive Health Practice Guidelines in Europe Eastern Europe and Central Asia and East European Institute for Reproductive Health, Romania.
Since 2015 RHTC is the coordinating organization of the Regional Training Center on Development and Implementation of Clinical Guidelines and Protocols on Reproductive Health (see details on https://cidsr.md/en/proiecte/proiecte-in-derulare/).
The course was attended by representatives of Ministries of health of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Moldova (see details in the List of participants).
Regional Course aim is to support stakeholders in countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia to establish a systematic approach to clinical guideline development/adaptation/implementation within a national program on quality improvement.
The course was facilitated by academic and health professionals from Moldova trained by Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, UK (RCOG) experts as master trainers on Clinical Guidelines development, adaptation and implementation for East European and Central Asia region.
The course is useful to policy makers, programme managers and health care professionals who are interested in developing /adapting and implementing clinical guidelines/protocols.
The course offered a unique opportunity to obtain knowledge about the methodology of Clinical Guidelines development on Sexual and Reproductive Health topics developed by the RCOG and East European Institute for Reproductive Health (EEIRH).
Special guests at the opening of the event were: Liliana Iasan, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Moldova; Sergiu Gladun, Director, Institute of Mother and Child of RM; Natalia Cojohari, UNFPA Moldova Assistant Representative. With the purpose of continuity and sustainability, based on accumulated knowledge, delegations from each country developed a national action plan to improve the process of developing, adapting and implementing clinical guidelines/protocols, including actions for accreditation and institutionalization of the regional course at country level.
At the end of the course, participants completed evaluation questionnaires, which serve as a basis for evaluating if the objectives were achieved and basis for further course improvement.
