International Day of Families promoted by CIDSR by launching a series of engaging videos [:]

16 May, 2022

15 May was declared “International Day of Families” by a resolution adopted on 20 September 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly.

This day is intended to promote the values that define the family: love, respect, equality, partnership, preventing/combating violence against women, children, the elderly, reconciling work and family life, etc.

In this context, CIDSR marked the day by launching a series of various educational, informative and awareness-raising videos.

In the video ” Cum ne ajută planificarea familială în formarea unei familii sănătoase”  Rodica Comendant, obstetrician-gynaecologist and university lecturer, provides information on the impact of contraception on improving the quality of family life and family health.

With the video ”Persoanele cu nevoi speciale pot și au dreptul să aibă familii armonioase”, CIDSR wants to fight prejudice and discrimination. Through the positive example of Ana Carabețcaia we highlight the idea that the ability to create harmonious families with healthy and responsible relationships does not depend on the presence or absence of a disability. Whether or not to have a partner, whether or not to start a family, whether or not to have children – these are important decisions that people with disabilities have every right to make, taking into account factors that any other person or couple would consider at this stage.

The video ”Tipuri de familii” from the Amaze series of videos was also launched, providing young people with comprehensive, accurate, non-discriminatory information about families and their variety in an engaging way.
