
The first event of the new research project took place on November 11
The Reproductive Health Training Centre, in collaboration with the library “Adam Mickiewicz” and with the support of Solidarity international, has launched a new research project. The aim of the project is to identify the level of knowledge of young people about sexuality education through public libraries in the Republic of Moldova. This study will serve as a basis for the following projects in this area.
On Saturday, 11 November, the first meeting of librarians, parents of teenagers and specialists in the field of sexual health and youth development took place.
Galina Leshko, gynecologist, director of the National Resource Centre for the Development of Youth Friendly Health Services YFHS NEOVITA, gave an interesting and informative training on how to talk to teenagers about sexuality education, what sexuality consists of, periods of sexuality development.
The participants were familiarized with information materials and resources. They were also informed about the existence of the hotline of the Neovita Youth Centre, which is available round the clock for adolescents and young people on any health-related issues. The hotline is free and confidential.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of RHTC, including the director of the center Rodica Comendant, associate professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology named after “Nicolae Testimitanu”, international expert and WHO consultant on safe abortion and family planning.
