Informative trainings regarding the use of modern contraceptive methods in accordance with the "Standardized Clinical Protocol for Family Doctors and Obstetricians-Gynecologists - IMPLANTS" - PHOTO
As part of the National Program for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, information sessions entitled “Information Session on the use of modern contraceptive methods according to the terms of the “Standardized Clinical Protocol for Family Physicians and Obstetricians and Gynecologists – IMPLANTS” are being held between October 16 and 19, 2023.
With the support and active engagement of the Ministry of Health, in order to increase the use of modern contraceptive methods, to ensure better access to family planning services, between October 16 and 19, 2023, in collaboration with the Reproductive Health Training Center of the Republic of Moldova (RHTC), there will be conducted 4 informative sessions for obstetricians-gynecologists of the Reproductive Health Cabinets, family doctors and teachers of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy named after Nicolae Testemițeanu, in the period of October 16-19, 2023.
The Rector of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” Mr. Emil Ceban, the Director of the Center of Medical and Pharmaceutical Excellence “Raisa Pacalo”, heads of primary health care institutions, heads of district and city hospitals will ensure, with active participation, the attendance of family physicians, obstetricians-gynecologists from reproductive health clinics and health centers for young people to the informative sessions.
The key aims of these informative sessions are:
- To disseminate correct and useful information to obstetrician-gynecologists of reproductive health clinics and family physicians about the mechanism of action of the implant, methods of implant insertion and removal.
- To familiarize obstetrician-gynecologists in reproductive health clinics and family physicians with the counseling process before implant insertion, adverse reactions and proper use.
- Actively encourage obstetrician-gynecologists at reproductive health clinics and family physicians to share this information with other health care providers in their regional facilities.
Ms. Tatiana Zatyk, Head of Primary and Community Health Care Policy, is also involved in these sessions, providing support and checking the quality of these activities.
During these sessions there will be moderators who will present necessary and important information:
- Georgi Tsertsvadze, Professor at the Medical University of Georgia, President of the Georgian Contraception Association
- Nodar Gvetadze, regional coordinator of DKT WCG.
- Rodica Comendant, University Course Lecturer, Director of the RHTC.
These sessions will cover topics on introducing participants to modern contraceptive methods: Levoplant, DIU, Eterene, AVM.
Ms. Rodica Comendant, University Professor, Director of RHTC, during the sessions will provide basic information about contraception, when it is better to start using contraceptive methods, what are their benefits and what are the risks associated with contraception.
In the training sessions, there will be presented a detailed description of the effect of the Levoplant implant, more precisely, its indications, contraindications and side effects; at the same time, the process of inserting the Levoplant implant into the arm will be presented on a special medical simulator, and this process will be explained in all details by Prof. Georgy Tsertsvadze.
The classes will also be attended by patients who will be able to use for free a new method of contraception that is safe, effective, long-term (3 years) and recommended by WHO. This contraceptive method, using the Levoplant implant, is suitable for all women, regardless of age, after childbirth or for family planning and has very few contraindications.
Between October 16 and 19, 2023, you can use this modern contraceptive method for FREE and take a course on the introduction of this contraceptive.
