Thanks to the project – “Strengthening Moldova’s social cohesion and resilience to the Ukrainian refugee crisis”, with the support of Solidarities International and our project partners, the 5th round of the “Summer Challenge” camp in the Adam Mickiewicz Library was completed.

,,Chisinau, green city, eco city”, this was the slogan of the “challenge”, which the children followed with so much love for two weeks.

During this time children had the opportunity to benefit from fun/educational activities , as well as new summer experiences.

On the first day of the tour, participants got to know each other, expectations of participants were noted, conditions of participation and internal rules of operation were discussed.

Then, in the following days, the English classes continued, with the theme:

,,How are you today, , ,,Emotions and feelings, , ,,Favourite characters from stories,,

City life vocabulary, and, likewise, music classes, ,,Let’s sing childhood,” studying musical instruments, discovering musical rhythm, improvising stories based on music, with the interpreter Adriana Spunei.

Creative master classes such as:

• Making a poster “How do you spend your vacations?
• Creating a friendship bracelet;
• Creating bookmarks from recycled materials;
• Drawing summer flowers;
• Coloring a paper windmill;
• Creating a plasticine painting with illustrator Elena Leshku;
• Painting on eco-lanterns and T-shirts;

The same goes for cooking workshops:

• Cooking tasty and healthy: jelly with fruits and seeds;
• Making cheesecake in the microwave;
• Tartines in a roll;

As well as a master class on painting, a master class on gardening, a musical master class, a master class on calligraphy at the National Museum of History of RM;

Children were delighted and actively participated in the board game “On the way home”,

Educational game “Safety rules for children”, outdoor games;

Group games and readings;

Reading tour – reading daily for at least 20 minutes, at the end of which the winners were announced.

In the thematic discussion :Observe the rules of electrical safety, live safely!

With the help of animated videos, participants learned the basic rules of electrical safety and learned how to protect their lives and the health of others.

As already mentioned, the trips remain one of the most enjoyable activities for the children in our camp.

Thus, field trips were organized:

• A field trip to Mill Valley Park;
• A trip to the zoo;
• A trip to the library “Targoviste”, branch of the library “B.P.Hasdeu” B.M.;
• A trip to the “Dendrariu” park;
• Trip to the National Museum of History of Moldova;
• Trip to the House-museum “Alexandru Donici”, Orhei;
• Visit to the police sector no. 3, Buiucani police station;

After numerous outings into nature and the promotion of a healthy and ecological lifestyle, the fifth round of the summer challenge at the day camp came to an end.

With certificates, praise, applause, delight and many, many memories the participants said goodbye to each other.

We sincerely thank the volunteers, teachers, partners and, of course, sponsors – AFD and FDF – for every day the children lived in the Adam Mickiewicz Library.
