3rd Regional Scientific and Practical Conference will take place in Chisinau in May
On May 15-16, 2025, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, will be held the 3rd Regional Scientific and Practical Conference “Self-care in reproductive health: family planning and safe abortion according to WHO recommendations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia”.
The event is organized by the Regional Training Center, coordinated by the Reproductive Health Training Center of the Republic of Moldova.
The conference will take place in a hybrid format: with physical presence for participants in Moldova and online, through the Zoom platform. Participation is only possible by invitation.
About 60 participants from Eastern European and Central Asian (EEAC) countries are expected, including politicians, service providers, activists, NGO leaders, international and national experts, as well as representatives of WHO, IPPF, UNFPA, DKT International, ESC, Gynuity Health Projects and others.
Objectives of the conference:
- Exchange of experience and discussion of lessons learned in EEAC countries on the implementation of WHO recommendations on self-help in the field of reproductive health, including abortion and family planning. Identify gaps and opportunities for practical application and integrate them into the national protocols.
- Addressing critical issues and exploring resolution mechanisms in the area of safe abortion and family planning. Obtain up-to-date information from partners and colleagues on support for the de-medicalization of family planning and abortion services.
- Discuss possible next steps to expand access and improve the quality of services in the field of reproductive health, family planning and safe abortion in the EEAC region.
The conference is organized with the support of the Safe Abortion Action Fund (SAAF) within the project “Women’s Reproductive Health Services in line with the latest WHO recommendations”.
