This theme notes the recent adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of these goals in building a more inclusive and equitable world for persons with disabilities. This year\u2019s objectives include assessing the current status of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/EN\/HRBodies\/CRPD\/Pages\/ConventionRightsPersonsWithDisabilities.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities<\/a> (CRPD) and SDGs and laying the foundation for a future of greater inclusion for persons with disabilities.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cidsr.md\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Reproductive Health Training Center<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0is celebrating this important day by launching the report \u201d<em>Assessing the issues confronting women and girls with locomotor disability in Moldova in exercising their sexual and reproductive rights\u201d (<\/em>first version). The report is the outcome of the activities conducted during the<a href=\"https:\/\/cidsr.md\/en\/proiecte\/proiecte-in-derulare\/proiectul-toti-egali-toti-sanatosi-abilitarea-femeilor-si-fetelor-cu-dizabilitati-din-moldova-sa-isi-exercite-drepturile-sexuale-si-reproductive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> project <em>\u201e<\/em><em>All Equal, All Healthy: Empowering Women and Girls with Disabilities in Moldova to Exercise their Sexual and Reproductive Rights\u201d <\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em> The project is funded by the Embassy of Finland in Bucharest, as part of the Fund for Local Cooperation and is carried out in the July 2016 \u2013 June 2017 interval.\n\nPersons with disability must be able to enjoy all sexual and reproductive rights guaranteed by international legal instruments and national policies. By ratifying the UN human rights conventions, especially the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/EN\/HRBodies\/CRPD\/Pages\/ConventionRightsPersonsWithDisabilities.aspx\">Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities<\/a>, the Republic of Moldova has assumed the responsibility to ensure their enactment and guarantee the observance of the rights of people with disability \u2013 including sexual and reproductive rights.\n\nThe total number of persons with disability in the Republic of Moldova is 184.3 thousand, according to the National Statistical Bureau (BNS<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> ) which represents 5.2% of the country\u2019s total population. Moreover, 48% of the total number of people with disability in the Republic of Moldova are women. \u00a062% of the persons with disability live in rural areas, the rate of disability in rural areas represents 547 persons with disability in ten thousand inhabitants, compared to 472 persons with disability in 10 thou. inhabitants in urban areas. A 10% continuous increase has been seen during the last decade in the total number of people with disability, and a 5% growth in the case of women.\n\nInternational data show girls and women with disability are faced with many obstacles in exercising their sexual and reproductive rights, are often subject to stigma, discrimination and forced to make decisions regarding their private life, sexuality, sexual and reproductive health, couple relationships and childbearing.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>\n\nAs approaching sexual and reproductive rights of people with disability is a new experience for Moldova, the Reproductive Health Training Center has conducted a situational analysis. The present report evinces the interview analysis results, specifying the findings and recommendations for both respondents and the working group.\n\nAlmost all women believe sexual and reproductive rights include the right to decide whether to have children or not, including with whom and when, the right to be informed about \u00a0methods of contraception and their utilization, the right to information and \u00a0education, as well as the right to access sexual and reproductive health services. <em>\u201dAll women have the right to family life, have the right to be mothers, and disability should not be a reason depriving us from this right.\u201d<\/em> says one of the interviewed women with special needs, aged 28.\n\nOne third of the women interviewed believed that in addition to the afore-mentioned rights, sexual and reproductive rights also include the decision to engage in sexual life, the right to marry or not, including with whom and when, the right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, as well as the right to be protected against sexual violence. \u201d<em>We are all equal and have rights to have a family and be happy. To have a beautiful life, just as all people do\u201d<\/em> says a 21-year-old woman with special needs.\n\nThe conviction of all women is that they can have a family and give birth to children, and locomotor problems should not be a barrier in achieving these rights.\u00a0 <em>\u201dFamily planning is a right and it would be correct that young people healthy and also with disability should be informed about the importance of contraception, planning a pregnancy with all necessary medical checkups, excluding afflictions by treating diseases so as to have a healthy body and a healthy family.\u201d believes a 42-year-old interviewed woman with special needs<\/em>.\n\nThe results obtained will be used by government bodies to draft and improve the policies pertaining to sexual health and sexual and reproductive rights of people with disability in the Republic of Moldova. Aceast\u0103 tem\u0103 se refer\u0103 la adoptarea celor 17 Obiective de Dezvoltare Durabil\u0103 (ODD), sau Obiective Globale, \u0219i rolul acestora \u00een f\u0103urirea unei lumi mai inclusive \u0219i echitabile pentru persoanele cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi. Obiectivele acestui an includ evaluarea Conven\u021biei privind drepturile persoanelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u0219i a Obiectivelor de Dezvoltare Durabil\u0103, precum \u0219i asigurarea mediului legislativ \u0219i mecanismelor de aplicare propice incluziunii sporite a persoanelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cidsr.md\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Centrul de Instruire \u00een Domeniul S\u0103n\u0103t\u0103\u021bii Reproductive<\/strong> (CIDSR)<\/a> marcheaz\u0103 aceast\u0103 zi prin lansarea raportului \u201eAnaliza situa\u021bional\u0103 a problemelor cu care se confrunt\u0103 femeile \u0219i fetele cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi locomotorii din Moldova \u00een exercitarea drepturilor sexuale \u0219i reproductive\u201d (versiunea I). Raportul este rodul activit\u0103\u021bilor realizate \u00een cadrul proiectului <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cidsr.md\/proiecte\/proiecte-in-derulare\/proiectul-toti-egali-toti-sanatosi-abilitarea-femeilor-si-fetelor-cu-dizabilitati-din-moldova-sa-isi-exercite-drepturile-sexuale-si-reproductive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>\u201dTo\u021bi egali, to\u021bi s\u0103n\u0103to\u0219i: Abilitarea femeilor \u0219i fetelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi din Moldova s\u0103 \u00ee\u0219i exercite drepturile sexuale \u0219i reproductive\u201d<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em> Proiectul este finan\u021bat de c\u0103tre Ambasada Finlandei la Bucure\u0219ti \u00een cadrul Fondului pentru Cooperare Local\u0103 \u0219i se desf\u0103\u0219oar\u0103 \u00een perioada iulie 2016 \u2013 iunie 2017.\n\nPersoanele cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi trebuie s\u0103 se poat\u0103 bucura de toate drepturile sexuale \u0219i reproductive garantate de instrumentele juridice interna\u021bionale \u0219i de legisla\u021bia na\u021bional\u0103. Prin ratificarea Conven\u021biilor ONU\u00a0 \u00een domeniul drepturilor omului, \u00een special a Conven\u021biei privind Drepturile Persoanelor cu Dizabilit\u0103\u021bi, Republica Moldova \u0219i-a asumat responsabilitatea de a asigura implementarea acestora \u0219i a garanta respectarea drepturilor persoanelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u2013 inclusiv drepturile sexuale \u0219i reproductive.\n\nNum\u0103rul total al persoanelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u00een Republica Moldova este de 184,3 mii persoane conform BNS<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> ceea ce constituie 5,2% din popula\u021bia total\u0103 a \u021b\u0103rii. Totodat\u0103, 48% din num\u0103rul total de persoane cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u00een RM sunt femei. \u00a0Persoanele cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u00een propor\u021bie de 62 la sut\u0103 sunt din mediul rural, rata dizabilit\u0103\u021bii pentru mediul rural constituie 547 persoane cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi la 10 mii locuitori, comparativ cu 472 persoane cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi la 10 mii locuitori din mediul urban. \u00cen ultimul deceniu se constat\u0103 o cre\u0219tere continu\u0103 a persoanelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi per total cu 10%, iar \u00een cazul femeilor num\u0103rul acestora s-a majorat cu 5 la sut\u0103.\n\nDatele interna\u021bionale arat\u0103 c\u0103 fetele \u0219i femeile cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u00eent\u00e2lnesc multe obstacole \u00een calea exercit\u0103rii drepturilor sexuale \u0219i reproductive, fiind deseori stigmatizate, discriminate \u0219i constr\u00e2nse \u00een luarea deciziilor ce \u021bin de via\u021ba privat\u0103, sexualitate, s\u0103n\u0103tate sexual\u0103 \u0219i reproductiv\u0103, rela\u021biile de cuplu \u0219i na\u0219terea copiilor.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>\n\nDeoarece abordarea domeniului de drepturi sexuale \u0219i reproductive ale persoanelor cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi este o experien\u021b\u0103 nou\u0103 pentru Moldova, CIDSR a efectuat o analiz\u0103 situa\u021bional\u0103. Raportul prezint\u0103 rezultatele analizei interviurilor cu specificarea constat\u0103rilor \u0219i recomand\u0103rilor at\u00e2t din partea responden\u021bilor c\u00e2t \u0219i a grupului de lucru.\n\nAproape toate femeile consider\u0103 c\u0103 drepturile sexuale \u0219i reproductive includ dreptul de a decide dac\u0103 s\u0103 ai copii sau nu, inclusiv cu cine \u0219i c\u00e2nd, dreptul de a fi informat despre mijloacele de contracep\u021bie \u0219i folosirea acestora, dreptul la informare \u0219i educare, precum \u0219i dreptul de acces la serviciile de s\u0103n\u0103tate sexual\u0103 \u0219i reproductiv\u0103. <em>\u201dOrice femeie are dreptul la via\u021b\u0103 de familie, are dreptul s\u0103 fie mam\u0103 iar dizabilitatea nu are motiv s\u0103 ne priveze de acest drept.\u201d<\/em> spune una dintre femeile cu nevoi speciale intervievate, \u00een v\u00e2rst\u0103 de 28 de ani.\n\nO treime dintre femei au considerat c\u0103, pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 drepturile expuse anterior, din drepturile sexuale \u0219i reproductive fac parte \u0219i decizia despre angrenare \u00een via\u021ba sexual\u0103, dreptul de a se c\u0103s\u0103tori sau nu, inclusiv cu cine \u0219i c\u00e2nd, dreptul de a \u00eentrerupe o sarcin\u0103 nedorit\u0103 precum \u0219i dreptul de a fi protejat \u00eempotriva violen\u021bei sexuale. \u201dNoi to\u021bi suntem egali \u0219i avem drepturi la familie s\u0103 fim ferici\u021bi.
