The FIGO World Congress, carried out online, provided a platform for colleagues worldwide to showcase clinical best practice, share the latest research, build alliances, and propose concrete solutions to the challenges in women\u2019s health and rights<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Among those participating in the Congress was RHTC Director, Dr. Rodica Comendant. Dr. Comendant presented on the pilot-study \u201cMedical Abortion via Telemedicine for Women and Adolescents in Moldova,\u201d supported by Grand Challenges Canada as part of the OPTions for Pregnancy Termination (OPTions) Initiative. In her presentation, Dr. Comendant highlighted key reasons for launching the study, study methodology, study results, including the effectiveness, safety, acceptability, and cost savings of the medical abortion via telemedicine service, and how the study contributes to the existing body of literature. The study is expected to soon be published in an international journal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. Comendant also participated in a round table discussion entitled \u201cTechnology Updates in Abortion,\u201d with experts from India, Columbia, Chile, and the United Kingdom. Congresul Mondial FIGO, desf\u0103\u0219urat online, a oferit o platform\u0103 pentru colegii din \u00eentreaga lume pentru a prezenta cele mai bune practici clinice, a \u00eemp\u0103rt\u0103\u0219i cele mai recente studii, pentru a construi alian\u021be \u0219i pentru a propune solu\u021bii concrete la provoc\u0103rile legate de s\u0103n\u0103tatea \u0219i drepturile femeilor.<\/span>\n\n<span>Printre participan\u021bii din cadrul Congresului s-a num\u0103rat directorul CIDSR, Dr. Rodica Comendant. Dr. Comendant a prezentat studiul pilot \u201eAvortul medicamentos prin intermediul telemedicinii pentru femei \u0219i adolescente din Moldova,\u201d sus\u021binut de Grand Challenges Canada ca parte a Ini\u021biativei Op\u021biuni pentru \u00eentreruperea sarcinii (OPTions). \u00cen prezentarea sa, Dr. Comendant a eviden\u021biat motivele cheie pentru lansarea studiului, metodologia de studiu, rezultatele studiului, inclusiv eficien\u021ba, siguran\u021ba, acceptabilitatea \u0219i economia de costuri pentru avortul medicamentos prin serviciul de telemedicin\u0103 \u0219i modul \u00een care studiul contribuie la volumul de literatur\u0103 existent\u0103.
